S.V.D. Answers Ewing Oil with Death and a Trick

Ewing Oil Cashes in on 4th Pick

Ewing Oil can seemingly do no wrong this season. The team's pick in the 4th of July Supplemental Draft, Jim Johnson, has died at the age of 68. His 32 points now give Ewing Oil a 193-81.5 lead. Ewing Oil has never lost a season in which its 4th of July pick has died, a fact not lost on its leadership.
"This was a huge, huge death," said a spokesperson for Ewing Oil. "We took Jim knowing he was in real bad shape and these are 32 enormous points. We're in a good position now. S.V.D. will need more than Patrick Swayze to beat us in the end."

The Picks Are In...

One of the most anticipated events in every season of Our Sick Game is the 4th of July Supplemental Draft. As per custom, the team trailing on July 4 gets the first pick in the draft. This year, that team is Sweet Valley Death. With their selection, S.V.D. chose Chewbacca, also known as British actor Peter Mayhew, 65.
Ewing Oil chose former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Johnson, 68, who is suffering from cancer. Best of luck to both teams down the stretch.
